How are you using your Interactive Whiteboard? We Need Your Input!
How are you using interactive whiteboards for teaching and learning? The Innovations Committee of VSTE would like to know…we’re collecting information about the use of the tools by educators across the Commonwealth and will be releasing the findings as part of a white paper later this month. It really will only take a minute and will help us better understand how you are using this particular technology so please consider taking the short survey.

Seven candidates are running for open seats on the Board of Directors, the decision making body of the Virginia Society for Technology in Education. VSTE member in good standing are encouraged to vote. You can review the slate of candidates and access the ballot here.

Digital Storytelling on the iPad Webinar This Week!

The Mobile Learning SIG will sponsor a webinar on April 12, at 7 PM. Photos, video, animation, sound, music, text, and narration…bring all of these together as students create and collaborate. Katie Neville, Vice President of VSTE’s Mobile Learning Special Interest Group, and Laura Briggs, VSTE Board Director, share strategies for engaging students in research, writing, and using their imaginations! 2012 Emerging Technologies Summer Institute Courses Available
The Emerging Technologies Institute is an annual program offered by the VCU School of Education to address current professional development needs of Virginia K-12 educators in the area of instructional technology. Courses are taught online on open-access platforms and will remain accessible after the course concludes. It is the aim of the Institute to facilitate on-going collaboration between participants and instructors, leading to informal communities of practice. Each course is limited to 16 participants who will collaboratively work together to explore the latest instructional technologies and design effective projects for use in their classrooms. The Board of Directors provides leadership for our organization. Seven candidates are running for the board and the ballot will be available on April 15. Take time to review their profiles.
