March is Mobile Learning Month!

Come learn more about how you can use mobile devices such as tablets, smart phones, and ereaders to energize your classroom.  You’ll have a chance to network with other users to trade tips and tricks.  But, don’t feel like you have to be a user already…we’ll have plenty of opportunities for beginners as well.

Mobile Learning Events

Virtual Saturdays: Each Saturday morning from 9 to 11 AM, we’ll be meeting online with a variety of experts in mobile learning including researchers and practitioners.  We’re still putting the final schedule in place.  These virtual sessions are free and first-come, first served.  They will be held in our Adobe Connect room.  Schedule

Breakout sessions will focus on content area applications along with tips and techniques for integrating mobile technologies and be led by facilitators.  Come prepared to share your own uses and applications or ask lots of questions!  Informal user group sessions will take place at lunch and focus on hardware (ie, iPad, Android, and ereaders).  Just $60 for a day of learning with continental breakfast and lunch provided.

iOS App Developers Group: In celebration of Mobile Learning Month, VSTE is sponsoring a special group on the Ning that will be working together throughout the month to learn how to develop applications for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.  It’s free to join the group, but they will be using some online tutorials available through lynda.com, which have a monthly subscription fee.  Interested?  You can start by joining the Ning group to learn more.
