In this session, we will exchange ideas on Content Specific Apps in Mobile Learning. The market is flooded with a large number of apps labeled education. How do we locate good Content Specific Apps? This is a hands on session looking at real time app examples in reading comprehension and social studies in addition to those presented by the group. This generation of student learners is often referred to as “Digital Natives”. We cannot rely on our traditional teaching methods. We need to “meet these students where they are.” The digital generation.
Not Just Another Gadget, iPods in Theory and Practice

The purpose of this presentation is to describe the theory and the reality of using ipods in a High School classroom. Topics will include technical information about buying, downloading, and searching for apps; general learning theories and practices about using ipods in the classroom; ideas for integration of the iPod with sol curriculums; classroom management with iPods; and demonstrations of specific apps. The presenter has used iPods for over a year in 9th grade average geography, 10th grade honors world history, and 12th grade international relations.
