What is VSTE?
The Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE) is a nonprofit association that’s been serving educators since 1986. Our vision is to be an influence in technological innovation in education and to be recognized as an agent of change across the Commonwealth. We realize this vision through our mission of promoting excellence in education by supporting professional development and the integration of both existing and emerging technologies.
At VSTE, we believe the true power of educational technology begins with connection—connecting educators to each other, to ideas, and to their students. By focusing first on relationships and sound pedagogy, we empower educators to design meaningful learning experiences. Technology then becomes a catalyst that makes these connections more engaging, more equitable, and more impactful for every learner.
What We do
VSTE supports educators across Virginia by advancing professional growth and strengthening knowledge of high-quality instruction through the meaningful use of instructional technology. We connect members through events, networking, newsletters, social media, and professional learning opportunities—both virtual and in person.
From regional conferences and community meetups to blogs, webinars, and our Annual Conference, VSTE provides resources, learning, and connections that help educators innovate in their practice and stay at the forefront of educational technology.
